Prefer wfh for the majority, allows me to take my kids to school which would never have been possible for full time office days
@Emma that’s my struggle… but we’re trying to get on the housing market and this new position would be £5k more per year… however full time in the office. Which means that I wouldn’t be able to do the school runs anymore
@Elizabeth oh girl, sorry to hear this! Don’t forget to look after yourself and be kind to yourself too 💝
How much does that 5k really help you? Added childcare, fuel, parking etc…
@Emma it’s +- £500 more that I would be bringing home each month. Childcare wise it would be the same as we already pay for breakfast and after school clubs (as we can’t just book a few days, we have to pay for the whole week). Apart from stopping wfh, we would be spending slightly more on fuel (but not too much, probably £10/week more)
I go to the office twice a week, and wfh the other 3 days. It allows me to be there for school drop off/school pick up, and to take my youngest to childminder etc. My partner does the school/childminder pick ups/drop offs on the days I go to the office.
I'm self employed and was back after 7 weeks, it's killed me leaving him but luckily he's with dad as he works evenings but I still hate it. Cried every day in the shower the first week. I still hate it now at 13 weeks. And I'm exhausted 24/7!
