@Sophie there is nothing in my maternity letter, or company handbook about paying the money back.. so hopefully I don’t owe them!
Hopefully you won't but might be worth checking with payroll/HR to confirm, you don't want it coming back to bite you x
You only have to pay money back if your company has paid you extra, so if you have been paid more than the minimum you are legally required to have. If your company offers a package where you get paid extra they won't have given it to you if you told them you're not coming back, because the majority of companies require you to come back to qualify for the extra as it's a perk of staying with the company
Yes because you worked for the company during your qualifying period. However, please check you don't have to return to work for a certain amount of time, unless you may owe them it all back. I work for the NHS and I have to return to work for a minimum of 3 months otherwise I owe them back my full maternity package x
