Health anxiety and stressed

Please tell me I'm not the only one when it comes to 2 babies under 2? My health anxiety for myself is through the roof! My son is almost 2 and my daughter is 5m. I'm at home alone all day with them both and try My absolute best of course, and wouldn't change it for the world, but recently I've been feeling super stressed and anxious. Headaches, skin breaking out, dizzy spells, etc and I'm convincing myself it's something horrendous. It's consuming me totally. I've been to the doctors and they're not worried, had eyes tested i now have stronger glasses but eyes were healthy. I'm just so worried they've missed something but don't know if these symptoms are related to stress and anxiety. I feel like i can't be the best mum as I'm taken over by this worry. I don't feel the doctors are taking me seriously. The prescribed me sertriline but I'm scared to take it cos of the effects. Has anyone else struggled with this type of thing?

I am not a doctor so I can't speak to other things to look into but anxiety can definitely cause those symptoms and more. I had health anxiety that started after the birth of my first. I never worried about my health before but suddenly I was convinced something terrible was happening. I have other anxiety as well and it all stems around needing to protect my babies. I'm sure after my second arrives it won't be any better. Medication is a personal choice but there are other options too if you are not comfortable. Therapy is an option that may help too. Through what a therapist has told me and my own experience, getting enough sleep really makes a difference. I made arrangements with my partner to sleep alone a couple of times a week and he was call for our daughter waking at night. I also made changes in my sleep habits like removing my phone from my room at night. If I was feeding or pumping I would pick up my ebook reader if I needed to do something.

@Pamela can stress and anxiety cause physical symptoms? Xx

Definitely. Google anxiety and physical symptoms and you might want to also look at the different types of anxiety. I get a lot of headaches and stomach problems related to it.

@Pamela what type of headaches do you experience if you don't mind me asking?
