Child showing off by being rude and hitting!

Hello! My son, a very kind and gentle 6 year old, Embarrassingly shows off by hitting me and being rude in front of his friends. He is not like this at home! He plays "bad guys" at school and I sometimes think he has a hard time telling reality from play but I'm so embarrassed in front of teachers and parents when he does it 😬 He tells me to "shut up" hits, punches, kicks, all like power play. He once started hitting me with an umbrella in the playground. It's like he's copying the "naughty" children at school and doing what they do because he thinks they look cool?... I've honestly considered moving his school so that he doesn't feel like such a "cool kid" anymore. How can I get him to stop?

Tell him his behaviour at school is disrespectful and not acceptable and if he continues take his favourite toy / game / TV or whatever every time it happens.

@Alice it's so random, it comes out of nowhere just as soon as he sees his friends! I'm not sure if it could be anxiety related so he's pretending to be someone he's not?

My 6 year old girl is the same too me and her little brother! She seems too do it mostly in front of her bestfriend and her mum and I’ve tried everything even too fine I’ll go home now then and she just doesn’t care ! As soon as she gets in the car it’s like she turns it off! I’m sorry I have no advice but I can fully relate😂😬 as dramatic as it sounds I find it really draining and hurtful because she wouldn’t dream of acting like that at home xx
