Low- lying placenta

Hello! Has anyone here dealt with a low-lying placenta? I was referred to a specialist, and they want to do a cervix check, but I feel like it might be too early for that. Would love to hear about others’ experiences!

Yes! They identified I had a low lying placenta at my 20 week anatomy scan. They did a cervix check to see if it was closed and said I should be on pelvic rest. So far that’s been it as they mentioned it normally moves higher as you/baby grows. I have another ultrasound at 26 weeks to check. I think if it’s still low when you’re further along, a c section would potentially be needed

Thank you Nicole! Looks like that’s the route I will be going too. ;(

Hey! I just found out I have this at 20 weeks. I see a specialist on Monday, recommended for me to not to do excessive hard workouts, but that it should move further along in pregnancy. Worst case c section and hoping for no bleeding …

Yes, identified at anatomy scan. I have another ultrasound at 24 weeks. Also was told no sex for the month until the follow-up ultrasound.

I have one too. Waiting for 24 week ultrasound next week to see if it moved up
