Weird Incident

I just had a really weird episode where I was feeling nearly like I was going to pass out everytime I walked up the stairs or stood up, my heart slowed and I couldn’t breathe Unsure if it was a panic attack but definitely turned into one, I had to panic call my mum I feel so guilty I put my baby in the cot as I honestly felt like I was dying for a moment I am not 100% now I feel weak still and dizzy and headache but I am on my period and always feel weak when oncould this be a blood pressure issue I’m panicking if it’s a blood clot or something serious

I’ll ring gp tomorrow

It could be mild anaemia (low haemoglobin level) related to your period. It can cause shortness of breath, headache, dizziness, and palpitations (awareness of your heart beat- going fast slow or normal speed). It could also be postural hypotension (low BP on standing quickly). This can be caused by lots of things such as dehydration (make sure to drink plenty of fluids). It's more unlikely to be a blood clot in the lungs, but best talk to your doctor for further investigation.

Not saying it’s the reason but make sure you’re eating and drinking well, will definitely help the situation. I get very dizzy too sometimes. Best bet is seeing what the drs say and just don’t rush things take it steady. But you definitely did the right thing with regards to baby that’s the safest place if you’re feeling like that. Also I suggest laying down on the floor if you feel faint, would help save you from injury if you was too. Hope you get sorted soon I know how horrible it can be xx

Thanks @Sophie @Sophie It’s weird I had episodes like this before but never with the shortness of breath, got me really scared for a second! I felt so bad as baby was crying but I literally couldn’t move myself so glad I managed to get her in the bed!

It is scary I would definitely investigate it, I have a condition called SVT but I get it frequently and am on medication now x

Could be low or high blood pressure 🤔 not sure ring gp
