I worked at a pregnancy ultrasound clinic for 5 years and this would happen all the time, we used to tell people to come in from 7 weeks onwards as 6 weeks you aren’t guaranteed to see a baby or sometimes you can see baby but no heartbeat, we usually then recommend to wait 2 weeks before coming back and most people would come back and see baby growing nicely, sometimes it can be just that little bit too early to see everything that’s needed, the 5 weeks 4 day measurement is most likely the sac itself and the 6 weeks on the report might be based off of your last menstrual period? Either way I wish you all the best and will keep my fingers crossed for you that it’s hopefully just too early 🤞🏼 I hope you get some answers soon! ❤️

I went in to what was supposed to be an 8 week appointment, but I was only measuring 6 weeks. Couldn't see much. I now have a healthy month old baby.
I was told this same thing when I came in for an ultrasound at 5wd2 of my pregnancy at the clinic. I waited two weeks then went and got a second opinion now I’m 7w4d with a healthy bean. Always get a second opinion. You’re very early. Doctors make mistakes. Keep your head up momma don’t add extra stress to you or your lil one. ☝🏽
This happened to me i was going off my last period date too and they couldnt see anything at all i was back and forward for hcg bloods and then finally saw a little blob its so hard to pick anything up at this stage due to how small they arr x
I went in for my first check at 8wks & it was a tiny blob. I could barely make out the heart. If it wasn’t bc I missed my period and took several pregnancy tests that all came back positive, I wouldn’t believe the doctor was showing me anything. I say that to say, don’t stress out just yet. Think positive! I’m sending you positive energy for you & your baby! I pray and affirm that baby is healthy and growing at its own speed! 💫🙏🏼

Yes happened to me with my first. He’s about to be 1 this week. The health anxiety that gave me though throughout my pregnancy was not good. The NP I saw scared me that I was miscarrying but I just ovulated way later.

I had this! I went for a private scan at what I thought was 6 weeks as I was inpatient, there was only the sac, my heart dropped obviously ! They said I was measuring 5 going on 6 weeks rather than 6+, rebooked for 2 weeks later (worst 2 weeks of my life!) went back and there baby was, 6 weeks or less I would honestly not bother getting scanned it scares the shit out of you. My LB is now 10 weeks PP. Sending all the luck in the world this is the case for you ❤️
This happened to me I went for a private scan @ 5+6 then I went to early pregnancy 2 weeks later and was only measuring 6+4 which was so scary but when I went back 2 weeks later my date was right back to normal they told me the baby is so small and that's why they don't like scanning until 12 weeks - really hope everything goes well for you sending all my love xx
Yes, I had this happen with my current pregnancy. I went in and I thought I was measuring like seven weeks or so and I was only measuring five weeks and five days in all they could see was a sack and the start of a yolk sac but no baby. They told me to come in for another ultrasound in two days and then I should definitely be able to see a heartbeat. I came in two days later, and there was no heartbeat. I was really disappointed so than two weeks later I came in, and we could finally see the baby and a heartbeat.
