IUD and pregnant

Has anyone ever gone through this? I’m currently 7 months PP and 5 months pregnant (19 weeks). I got my Mirena IUD when I was 6 weeks PP with my son, but it migrated up into my uterine wall (in my past c section scar). We are unable to remove it due to the positioning, and they’re going to remove it during the c-section. My doctor said she’s never seen anything like this in the past 8 years she’s been practicing - and was convinced I was going to m!scarry by 8 weeks. Although, baby girl is all good! We have our 20 week anatomy scan next Monday, so I’m excited to see how she’s actually doing! My question is - has anyone had this happen? If so, did you last full term or did the Mirena IUD cause issues/preterm labor? Pic of our little family for attention 🫶

I’m literally going through the same thing, got my iud implanted 6 weeks after my daughter was born in 2023 and it moved within a year found out I was pregnant august of 2024 now I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant.

@Bryanna omg! How’s your pregnancy been? Any complications? Did you get the IUD removed, or is it still there?

@Tori they removed it 4 weeks into finding out I was pregnant because it had started an infection, but so far pregnancy is going great. 😊 they just checked on baby last week and 100% heathy. How’s your pregnancy? Did you get yours removed?

@Bryanna I’m so glad they were able to get it out! They weren’t able to get mine out, they tried use forceps to dig in my cervix but weren’t able to reach the strings. It’s still in there, so I’m hoping it doesn’t cause in future issues as baby girl gets bigger. So far, we haven’t had any issues! I had a lot of bleeding in the first trimester and was on pelvic test for about 7 weeks - but we’re good now!

@Tori so will they eventually remove it once you have baby girl? And girl I was so sick I had to quit working my first 7 weeks. So glad to hear everything’s going well 🙂

@Bryanna they will! They’re going to remove it during the c-section!
