Growth scan

Been to see midwife today for 36 week check and she said my fundal height has dropped off the line it was on slightly so has sent me for a growth scan. I am now worrying. Luckily the scan is tomorrow so I don’t need to wait long to see if he is all okay. Anyone else experienced this?

I’ve had the exact same had my 36 week app yesterday and they booked me in for a growth scan today as she was measuring below the line, she’s still measuring small so have another scan in two weeks and if she’s still below the line I will be induced. There’s honestly nothing to worrie about it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong, your baby’s head could have just moved and be low down and they cannot measure properly x

Yes during my first pregnancy. Went for the growth scan and he was actually measuring on the larger side 😅 so shot up the chart

Nothing to worry about at all. When they measure you at midwife appointments they can't always get an accurate reading so a growth scan can just be as a precaution. I was sent for one at 38 weeks for my first pregnancy as it had dropped slightly but the growth scan said it was all fine. This is my 2nd pregnancy and have been needing growth scans since 32 weeks as it turns out my 1st baby still didn't weigh enough even though the growth scan had said he should be about 7/8 lbs but was born at 41 weeks 6/bs12oz. So even a growth scan isn't 100% accurate it's just a more accurate reading than having your bump measured and just as an extra precaution is all

None of it is truly accurate, they're all just estimations really. I was told with my first he was going to be big, but he came out 38+5 5lb8oz! And with this one now, I've had growth scans throughout and they've all varied. All that really matters is that they're receiving a healthy blood flow and oxygen levels x

@Kirsty I had the same experience with my first!

With my first I always measured small on the fundal height - had a growth scan and he was measuring larger. Delivered a 9lbs 1oz chonk

@Jayden I'm going through it again this time, first fundal measurement was small but I was already booked in for growth scans and our baby is measuring big even though my bump is quite neat 😅
