We have a cheap pop up play tunnel and ball pit that comes out on these days! That and I just stick a bowl of rice/pasta on the floor with things for her to fish out… keeps her busy for ages! Or ice cubes or something, just completely random things x
Same here. It doesn't help that my partner likes the tv on for background noise and I don't lol. Also by having the tv on all day I feel like it's easier to just stay stuck on the couch rather than getting to do housework, get out the house etc. Bad weather doesn't help either. I do play with my lo, read to him etc when i can but sometimes I am just too exhausted 🥺. He's not walking independently or talking yet either but hopefully soon
I think we all have days like that sometimes so don't feel any way about it, especially when they're ill! We have a little bookshelf in our son's room and he spends most of the day choosing books off it for us to read or he'll flick through by himself and "read" to me. He also has a little play kitchen that he busies himself in. Then he sometimes sits in his highchair and watches me prepare dinner, we've made peanut butter oat cookies together (it was a mess but he had so much fun). But also, don't feel like you need to entertain them all the time. If you bits around for them to do, they'll entertain themselves. It's okay for them to be bored x
I feel like it's OK to have those days when you're battling with a poorly/fussy toddler! I try to make sure we still go for a walk or get down on the floor and play with toys a few times a day. Getting something new definitely helps too or something they don't usually have, like a saucepan, spoon, whisk and some pasta! My little girl also loves putting things like blocks into shopping bags or an amazon box! X
