Postpartum HBP

Hello ladies! Quick question, is anyone else experiencing postpartum high blood pressure ? Mine was super normal throughout the pregnancy but recently became high after giving birth Feb 5th. It’s been mentally draining 😭 I’ve heard it may go back to normal in a few weeks but I’ve also heard some say their blood pressure didn’t go back normal until months to a year later 😞

Gave birth on the 8th and having the same issue. I also had zero troubles with bp during pregnancy, and in fact, have never had an issue before in my life. Now I'm tracking mine twice a day hoping to hell I don't have postpartum eclampsia.

i’m going through the same exact thing, they sent me home with a blood pressure monitor but im a ftm so i know i’m stressed out a little on the inside and i’m not sleeping

@Teasia I was thinking the same thing. None of us really get sleep these first few months, our hormones are crashing, and every new baby is a major adjustment. Baby is my 2nd, but dealing with a newborn and a toddler has been a whole new ball game. Mom guilt is so real.

It might be normal or it might not. Keep checking it and pay attention to any other symptoms you might have. Postpartum preeclampsia is a thing

I gave birth on the 6th and my bp got high immediately after getting home from hospital. I had terrible migraines as well. Went to the ER they gave me a headache cocktail but nothing for BP so i went to my OB and they gave me migraine meds and BP meds. Its back to normal now

@Tamisia it sucks for sure . I had an ED visit for mine as well & they just monitored me until it went down & didn’t give me anything for it . They just told me to monitor it at home & that was all

@Romy I’ll keep checking, I do 3 times a day. I had an ER visit recently & didn’t have any protein so they said I don’t have postpartum pre-e but still just is draining having to deal with this
