Collecting colostrum
When are people thinking of starting to collect colostrum I’m currently 29 weeks 3 days with my second baby and some sites say 32 week and some say 36???

I think if you're leaking anyway, you can use shells to collect whatever leaks. But it's best to check with midwife when you can start to hand express.
36-37 weeks
Don’t start before week 37 🤗 Earlier this week, at my 28 week bloods, midwife gave me a colostrum collecting kit. Would definitely ask for one if you haven’t already got one 🫶🏻
Personally not bothering, this is my 2nd and with my first I didn’t use it at all cause I had help from midwife straight away and just got baby straight on boob which is all colostrum anyway! - so don’t over think it if you struggle to get it or as much as you hoped!
I'm also wondering why would that be needed? I'm having my 2nd child and never heard of this before

Hey! It’s best to check with your midwife before starting - I think was advised no sooner than 37 weeks as it can induce labour x
