Ethnic names or assimilated names?

I want to give my twins names from their culture/country of their family’s origin but I’m concerned for their safety in the US where we live and other developed countries (we travel a lot) as it’s not a great time for our people right now and it seems to be getting worse instead of better. At the same time, I want them to feel connected to their people/culture. What should I do?

I’m sorry anyone has to think about these things. Only you can make that call but I will say I gave one child an assimilated name and have some regret, but in our case it was less safety and more convenience

Names are prayers, so call them what you want them to remember and carry through life.

Ethnic names with easy "assimilated" nicknames. All my Korean in laws have a Korean name and a name in English

We did assimilated first names for our twins and one twin has an ethnic middle name. The plan was for both of them but then the others middle name is now homage to my mom. Also consider your last name because if it’s identifiable as ethnic the first name won’t matter as much and I’d go ethnic
