Glucose test?

Hi all! I’m 26 weeks pregnant and I have my next scan at 36 weeks and my next midwife appointment at 28 weeks. Anyone knows how it works for the glucose test? Do they test everyone for it or only if you have symptoms? And if they do at how many weeks?

You might not have to have it. They will recommend it to you if you have any risk factors of gestational diabetes or for accelerated baby growth. My baby had ‘accelerated growth’ between 28 and 32 weeks so I had the test, and was negative for GD - baby had just had a growth spurt.

They don’t test everyone Based on certain criteria’s. Usually ethnicity or medical history, baby’s size/weight etc I had it because of my ethnicity Sorry this is for NHS

I think it depends on where you live. In canada they test everyone at 28 weeks

My gynecologist said everyone gets tested (I’m a first time mom) she said I had to take the test between 24 weeks and 28 weeks

I had one in the UK at 26 weeks due to higher BMI, it was negative. Had a scan yesterday and baby is 94th percentile so now I have to have another next week. 😑

I didn’t have one with my first as my BMI at first midwife appointment was below 30 but I’m pregnant with my second baby and I need to have the glucose test with this one because my BMI was just above 30 xo
