Blood Pressure

Anyone else having to monitor their blood pressure in these last few weeks? I’d love to find someone else going through this.

Meeeee

I’m not “having to” necessarily but I am monitoring it. I’m 36 years old and as such, more at risk for pre eclampsia. My BP is definitely creeping up a bit lately (130-140/70-80’s) but I’ve also been working a bit too hard. So I’m going to keep checking it over the weekend to see if it’s staying higher or not. Going to try to hydrate better and rest more as well.

I had to be induced because my blood pressure randomly went high

And then 4 days after I had her I developed preeclampsia. I just got out of the hospital

@Mae yeah mine randomly spiked too and it’s so high today so I’m trying to lay low but I feel like the stress of worrying about it isn’t helping. I’m glad you and the baby are okay!

@Rachel yeah I’ll be 35 on the 9th and my BP just starting going up but it’s pretty high so I’m stressing

@Allie how high? And when are you monitoring it? (I’m a nurse btw)

I’m taking it throughout the day. It was just 150/86

Me! 38 weeks monitoring it multiple times a day. It’s all very confusing to me. Dr says if it above a certain amount go in but then it’s over that amount when I’m at the Dr and they said it fine. No protein in my urine and we do blood work everytime. Always comes back negative for preeclampsia so hypertension

@Allie Ok. Definitely the stress of worrying about it isn’t helping. Sucks that we can’t really turn that off easily. You having any other symptoms? Swelling, headache? Have you reached out to your OB at all?

@Megan Suarez yeah this seems like what’s happening with me right now too

Yeah I feel like so long as you’re keeping in touch with your doctor about it and monitoring things, try not to stress. That’s what I’m trying to do. Blood pressure can be elevated without it being pre eclampsia. Especially with pregnancy.

@Rachel had a normal reading this afternoon and I’ll keep testing. I’m hoping it was just a tincture I was taking and it’ll go back to normal. And no I’m only working with midwives and doulas.

@Allie Just keep in contact with whoever you’re working with. Always a good idea. I’m glad you had a normal reading this afternoon! Try not to stress too much about it and just rest and hydrate. That’s what I’m trying to do too.
