Has anyone had a similar experience?

I'm 36+1 days and had a growth scan at the hospital today, which showed baby is now on the 13th centile with slowed growth, the reason I’ve had a growth scan was because my bump measurements had previously been on the 50th centile, then 90th, and back to 50th. Yesterday, a different midwife noticed the drop and referred me for a scan which I got through quickly. I’ve seen others get offered inductions at 37 weeks for this but this wasn’t mentioned today, only that I’ve been referred for another growth scan in 2 weeks with no mention of induction. I’ve had a straightforward pregnancy, but now I’m feeling anxious and worried about the next two weeks. Has anyone had a similar experience, and what was the outcome?

Bump measurements are not as accurate and quite an outdated way of measuring babies growth

I had to have two growth scans and he was looking fine when I went for the second. I was going to be offered a induction if he wasn’t measuring right but turned out fine

I had something similar where the growth goes up and down but steadily inclines. Then I had a different midwife who measured a decline in growth so they referred me for a scan but told me the bump measuring is very inaccurate and not to worry. Had the growth scan and it showed the baby was all fine - the midwife sonographer said that different midwives measure differently and also the baby is travelling down the uterus at this point so the bump can seem different. If you’re really worried I’d call triage and see if they can help, or your midwife to get you an earlier scan. They’re supposed to get you one within 72 hours if they’re really concerned which is what they did with me. You’ll be ok xx

I was measured a week ago on Thursday & was told my bump was small but it could be due to the babies heading being engaged, I had a growth scan the next day & baby isn’t classed as small so I wasn’t offered anything from that

It's likely you've not been offered induction as there isn't a second growth scan yet to compare to. I've had two growth scans and the second showed an acceleration in growth so they are waiting for the third one to compare to and make a decision about what happens next

Had the exact same thing this week at 36+4, referred for another scan in two weeks. They didn’t seem to be worried and if it was an issue I’m sure they’d have suggested things to do or other options than a second scan so try not to worry. xx
