Is it wrong?

My daughter is 1 and she loves to watch bluey throughout the day. Everyone keeps telling me I’m in the wrong for letting her watch it a little at a time. Does anyone else’s child like watching any show throughout the day?

you’re her mom so only you know whats best for your kiddo! everyone does things differently ! I personally let my one year old watch elmo or the old little einsteins for small amounts at a time !

@julie at most she’ll watch 10-15 minutes then loose interest and go play with her toys

@Kaylee i don’t think that’s bad at all !! sometimes it helps with getting some me time or even having to clean something really quick for me! you’re doing amazing momma <3!!

@julie thank you 🫶🏼. I honestly feel like I’m doing something wrong most days because people always tell me what they think is right and wrong

@Kaylee i definitely understand!!! just always do what you think is best ! :)

Don’t worry about what any one else thinks or says. It’s your baby and you know what’s best for them. Ignore them and just keep doing what you’re doing. Your babies happy and healthy so they can kindly leave 😂x

My son loves super why and peppa pig, he be losing interest though and comes to me quick or toys but for the most part I’m able to get more done and not keep him at my hip 24/7

I feel like as long as your kiddo isn’t throwing tantrums over an iPad and isn’t glued to a screen 24/7 you’re good to go, when I was a kid Saturday morning cartoons was something I looked forward to, me and my siblings all had shows we loved watching and were all pretty decent 😂🤣 “iPad kids” stigmatized tv for children for sure

If you keel feeling bad toss a Disney Spotify station on. I’ve also found live nature cameras of various animals eating. Her favorite is the Brownsville deer “food pantry”.

My daughter is 5 and has her own little Amazon kids tablet. She ON HER OWN chooses to do educational games / videos and has just let me know a carrot is a root. I think as long as you’re not letting your kids spend ALL day on the tv or devices it’s not a problem. Let’s be fr there going to watch worse as they get older. Your kids, your choice.

My daughter either had bluey on in the background or Ms Rachel. She doesn’t really stop and watch it a lot. For me it helps me get my house in order

@Trinity she looses interest after a few minutes and will crawl away and play with her toys. She’d rather take pictures on my phone so we got her a toy phone with just a camera to take all her pictures lol

Tbh when I was pregnant with my first I thought I was gonna be a 0 screen time mom and whatnot and then I had my son and all that went out the window. I have my tv turned on all day every day. I switch what I have on throughout the day though so typically I turn on cartoons right away in the morning when my boys are still waking up and while I make breakfast. Then they eat and go play and I turn on my own show for a little while or just some music on YouTube or Spotify. Sometimes my son will ask for curious George and I’ll turn it on for a bit if he asks but he usually only sits and watched for like one episode maybeeee (he’s 2) and then go play. Idk I feel like as long as it doesn’t cause issues like tantrums if you turn it off or something then I wouldnt worry too much about it

Also a little side note… you can look for less stimulating shows to maybe help avoid the no tv tantrums. In Netflix I really liked The sea of Love, Puffin Rock, or Trash Truck On Hulu we watch curious George In YouTube there’s so many great options, try Vooks, otherwise you can also find full episodes of barenstain bears, Franklin, etc You can also get Pluto or tubi which are both free tv streaming apps that have shows like Mr Roger’s neighborhood, or Barney, or any of those other shows we grew up watching! If you want more ideas just google low stimulation toddler shows and so many options will come up
