calling ob/going to the er

hey, so does anyone else feel like a burden for thinking about calling ob or even going to the er when you’re not feeling good? this is my first pregnancy/first baby, and i feel like i may be over reacting by calling my ob or going to the er for not feeling good even if i know my symptoms are on the “that’s pretty bad” side of things…. like im barely functioning but still scared to call or go in.

Yes I sometimes do! If you can, try calling an advice nurse and explain your symptoms and they will let you know if you should schedule an appointment or head in to the emergency room. That’s what I do when I’m not sure myself.

What are your symptoms/what’s going on?

@Parker i’ve been basically bedridden for a week. i have a few good days but im still miserable through the day. i also feel dehydrated despite not throwing up or anything and have a super low appetite.

Could you possibly have norovirus?

@Amanda highly unlikely this has been going on since i was like 6 weeks im now 9.

Honestly I was sick as a dog from week 3-8 like everything you described but would also be exhausted like beyond anything sleeping 17 hours a day. The smell of food would make me sick. Some days I felt okay in the sense of I didn’t want to simply croak but others oh my lord and finally I went to the er. That is when I found out I was pregnant and it explained a lot of symptoms but I also had influenza a which is really popular right now and very serious. They gave me two bags for hydration and an ekg because my oxygen was low numbers and they wanted to just make sure because I would almost pass out sometimes with it because I wasn’t eating nor drinking enough. Please mama just go in. You’re never a burden. Go to ER it will be better in the long run anyway worst case scenario you come out hydrated. ❤️ Prayers. ❤️
