Do you wipe down shopping carts before putting your kid in?

Shopping carts are 270X DIRTIER than a toilet handle in a public restroom...

When I remember yes. But I try really hard to use his stroller instead honestly. But he went through a stage where he refused to sit in his stroller anywhere that was not fun. lol

I literally don’t have time to sit there and clean a shopping cart for my almost 4 year old to sit in. He sits in it when we leave he hand sanitizes his hands when we get home he washes his hands. When he was a baby we used a cover.

And then again my kid isn’t licking the cart or shoving his hands in his mouth after touching the cart.

Oh yes ma’am it’s gross 🤢 I gotta get a new cover matter of fact

Oh and another thing... my kiddo got HFMD from a walmart shopping cart.

Ngl I don’t do it as much as i should. But im getting in the habit of washing her hands or at least wiping them. Nor does she chew on her finger that much…but still it’s good to clean them clean.

I carry a travel Lysol so I spray it and wait a few seconds for it to dry and it’s less work than a wipe

My daughter got HFMD from a Superstore shopping cart because she always puts the thinger in her mouth that is used to connect the carts together. So hard to stop her. So she's only allowed in that store in the stroller now or walking cuz we never want to deal with that again.

I mostly order my food so I can't judge people who have to go to the shop regularly and don't clean them. On rare occasions where we did go to the shop and he wasn't in his buggy, I've been so grateful for the sanitising stations at the entrance because I'd never think of bringing antibac wipes with me, but I'd rather carry him the whole time than put him in a cart that I've not cleaned myself ❌ I've seen a stat of how much nastier these are than a toilet when he was first born and it's something I'd personally never take a risk with 🥵

We use a cover and bring hand sanitizer in with us and I’ll use it on myself before touching my daughter again and I’ll put it on her hands if she touches stuff around

Nothing is safe lol basically. Kids are gonna get sick regardless. Some kids get sick from touching a cart and some from school. My kid got HFM from the pool. Like it really can happen from anything. You cannot avoid it trust me I’ve tried.

I don’t go to the grocery with three tots ever but when I had one tot- yes I did

I try to remember to. Not every store has wipes and we don't always bring in his diaper bag.

I used to when she was under 1 and likely to try and chew on the bar, but it’s rare we go and I’m definitely more on the side of let them build an immune system. No one was cleaning them off when I was a child!

Nope I just wash her hands in the bathroom or sanitize her hands in the car before we leave, as well as wash when we get home
