Do you ever just... Let.... Your dog eat the cat's barf?

I dunno if I should trigger warning this cuz it's gross of course. But my youngest, fattest cat binge and purges at least once a day. Just eats so much he immediately hurls. And since it's just slightly warm, undigested food... I let the dogs eat it cuz whatever. Less for me to clean up. My husband is absolutely disgusted by this, as he should be, but has such an aversion to throw up that he can't clean it up himself anyways. So win win for me that I don't have to clean it up and it's not harmful to the dogs. I have enough messes to clean up as is lol

One of my cats would eat the other's throw up. I just let her sometimes.

Eww I don't have pets but your dog is disgusting lol glad someone is helping you though 🤣

My dogs will stand guard behind the cat as soon as they hear her gagging just waiting for her to step away so they can chow down. Dogs r def more gross than cats. The cat will look at em like “ya’ll r nasty” lol

Dogs do disgusting things sometimes 😂 just be careful though as some cat foods can cause issues to dogs and also dogs can get obstructions from eating cat vomit as there’s often a lot of hair in cat vomit too x

Maybe just limit the intake of the cat??

I wouldn’t feed the cat so much? It doesn’t sound healthy at all to feed the cat so much it’s being sick on a daily basis. And personally, I wouldn’t let the dog eat the sick, I think that’s gross, poor dog ☹️

Not to be rude but this sounds irresponsible. I think it’s one thing if the cat does this and the dog gets to it before you noticed, because you can’t control that. But to just allow it because you can’t clean it up is gross and potentially harmful for the dog. It’s best to prevent your dog from eating cat vomit. While it may not always be harmful, it can contain undigested food, hair, or even substances that are unsafe for dogs, like medications or toxins. It could also spread bacteria or parasites. Save yourself a high ass vet bill and take 30 seconds to clean up after the cat if you’re able to catch it before the dog.

Unfortunately I can't limit his food or he eats all my 17 year old cats food and she gets none. I basically can't limit his food until she passes and then little porker is going on a diet! The dogs don't eat throw up from the other 2 cats cuz they're usually just hairballs or water but little porker is straight food cuz it's right after he eats himself sick. They used to beat me to it all the time and I'd at least try to get there first but I dunno, lately I'm like whatever, no harm no foul, I've got diapers, and boogers, and the other pets to clean up after that if the dogs wanna clean that up for me have at it you gross jerks lol. My one dog will also eat the others poop in the winter only cuz he likes poopsicles which is friggen nasty and we try our hardest to stop that. But especially cuz he WILL throw that back up sometimes and holy moly I'd clean up anything in the world over that. SO GROSS

@Sharaya can you not feed the cats in separate rooms? Then he’s not over feeding to the point he is sick which isn’t good for him and then your older cat actually gets some food as again, her not getting food isn’t good x
