I asked my midwife this today as my test is on sat. She said I could have sips of water but not a full glass

Mines next week and my letter says sips of water only x

I have my test in a couple of weeks, I was told water only but nobody has mentioned sips only. If we’re only allowed sips of water how the hell are they going to get blood from us! I have to drink gallons for them to be able to take a blood test successfully… 🤯

It depends on which glucose test you are doing - mini or full GTT - you should ask your midwife. Mine will be a mini GTT as that is a standard offering at 28 weeks in my midwife unit and I only have to fast for 2h before the appointment (without even water), 1h before the app I have to drink the sugary drink and then come in for the app to do the blood test and the rest of the normal 28w appointment. Will only need to do a full GTT if the mini comes back high.
