Newborn insert of car seat

We did and then put it back lol. He is above the height for the newborn insert and almost 4 months old. He looks a bit squished with the insert but without it he slumps downward and goes in a chin to chest position. So for now we’ve decided to keep the insert. Just try it out without and see what happens tbh.

Depends on the brand one of mine is Graco and it says removed bumper at 13lbs which worked I also removed head support as he's good head control and the support was squashing him Other is joie removed head support and bumper kept body support

I’ve removed it, I found he was flopping his head forward out of it. He looks so much more comfortable without it and I don’t have to keep stopping to readjust his head!

our car seat newborn insert is to be removed at 11lbs or 61cm and my little boy was way over the weight and just over the length about a month ago so we removed and he seems much more comfortable now and seems happier in the car seat x

We’ve removed ours, it said to take it out when they reach 60cm and she looks a little comfier since removing it x

Removed at 60 cm too and looks like he’s more comfortable. Still angry unless the car is moving 🤣

I think it depends on the brand of car seat. I think they give a guide on when to remove it. My girls in a multistage one but I checked last week and she'll have the newborn insert for a while yet. She's about 5kg (small baby, very long) and it says 9kg.
