Help!!!

So I found out my partner has been cheating on me. Im freaking out bc I’ve not had sex with anyone else apart from him and now I can’t stop thinking he might have passed something to me. I’ve contacted my GP and the receptionist literally told me they don’t do bloods or anything for STI’s. That I have to contact and sex clinic or something, which has a waiting list. Like what the hell? Is this true? How come a GP does not do bloods or a test to try and detect STI’s? They also refused to do a post partum check up on me after having an emergency c section cause they claimed “they don’t do them anymore” I’m absolutely fuming as I want to make sure I don’t have anything and don’t want to be waiting for ages to see if something is wrong.

Go to a clinic, they're better placed to do the right tests than the GP - also think they're significantly quicker to see you. There used to be walk in ones too? Have a look to find your local one. Did your midwife not do checks post csec?

So sorry you've been treated this way 😔 I'd inquire about how long the waiting list is and consider going to the clinic. The results tend to come back really quick. For what it's worth, my local clinic had a waiting list when I required about contraception (implant removal) - still ended up being quicker than going doctors. But never known it for testing. This must be a super stressful time for you so I encourage you to lean into friends and family for support ❤️ I've been cheated on before but couldn't imagine going through it with a little one. While I can understand your panic, IF it was to come back with anything, it is absolutely not a reflection of who you are as person, and any infection is either treatable or manageable these days. X

So sorry to hear you going through this! If youre concerned, you can quite often do the tests at home for free. See if you can order one in. It's usually just an online form you fill out and it gets sent to your home discretely and the you post it off when done x

Go to your local walk in. I've been before for myself and I've been with a friend a couple of times and they're usually quite fast, and the experts.
