Health insurance is making my PPD worse

I’m currently 4 months postpartum and I asked my psychiatrist if I could have more time off and they approved it. But literally a few hours later a nurse messaged me saying that I’m out until the 31st and she wants to follow up with me close to my leave for an update. Which is fine but I still need to give my employer a heads up that I’ll be out for April. It seems like they’re back tracking and idk what to do now? Today she just scheduled my appt for the 26th and I feel that’s too late to give my employer an update two business day before I go back to work. It just seems like they’re making this difficult when it doesn’t need to be. When I was already approved off and I still don’t have the work note. I’m thinking about switching to another provider.

Thats happening to me too. My RTW is april 7th but my appt is april 1st. If i get approved for an extension thats cutting it super close which sucks. But thats how they're doing it

@Diana ughh it’s so stressful! I hope u get approved for an extension.

I think they only do 2 week increments, that’s why she’s checking in with you then. Like your provider isn’t going to write a note that you are approved to take the month off April off… does that make sense? It’s similar to SDI/PFL process on their end.

As a manager, this is unfortunately common. I had 5 supervisors go out on leave in the last year and 3 of them had it extended with 1-2 days notice. Not ideal but common
