I started sertraline at the start of pregnancy due to really bad mental health and anxiety (already suffered before hand but pregnancy had amped it to its full potential) I've not given birth yet I'm due in May but all the perinatal team and midwives had said to me is they'll probably just monitor me and baby for a couple days to make sure there's no withdrawal symptoms in baby and to make sure im okay with postpartum, they say sertraline is the safest antidepressant to take while pregnant xx
I started taking sertraline at the start of my first pregnancy (July 2023) and have been taking it ever since (14 weeks with my second now!) absolutely no issues or effects on myself or Bub, midwives did keep me in the hospital for an extra day post birth with my son, however explained that it was more to monitor how I managed, and provide me with extra support. I imagine things will be the same this time round, except that I kind of have to pop the babe out and get home to my son 🤣
Taken it for years. Both my babies seemed normal when born and I haven’t noticed anything weird.
I started taking it after I had my first and was on it for a year and then while pregnant with my second. (Still taking it now too). My second is 2 months old and is just the same as my first who i took no medications with. 🫶
