Miscarriage/pregnancy test

Hi guys, I had a miscarriage over 3 weeks ago. I had bleeding for 1 week and stopped just over two weeks ago. On Sunday I did a pregnancy test and it was negative. Had sex. Also did one on Tuesday also negative. I had sex on Sunday and had a peak ovulation test. Yesterday I noticed a little bleed. I now have a positive pregnancy test this morning. I am so confused. Is this a new pregnancy? But surely it would not show so soon? Or maybe it's retained products? Thank you 💓❤️

I had a positive pregnancy test exactly 4 weeks after my miscarriage started, it was a new pregnancy and my baby is now 2 weeks old. It’s very possible that if you’ve ovulated that you’ve fallen pregnant again as you’re more fertile after a miscarriage. I would contact your doctor or local early pregnancy unit as they may be able to do blood tests for you to confirm xx

I had a positive test few days after and no currently 20 weeks pregnant yet Mt baby is measuring futher than my last period

Hi both, thank you so much for replying. I spoke to EPU and she said it sounds like a new pregnancy. She said for me to use the clearblue digital and see what it says. I didn't know I positive can come up so quickly x

I'm currently bleeding that's why I did another one. Did you guys have a bleed at all? Xxx

Congrats 🙌🏻 If you’re bleeding and pregnant, definitely let your EPU know as they can scan you when you’re around 5 weeks

Hopefully this is a new pregnancy. 🤞You would need to have your HCG levels monitored to see if they increase or not. It took 6 weeks for my HCG levels to reach zero after my miscarriage.

I’m sorry for your loss. Did you happen to check if your test was negative post miscarriage? It could be a new pregnancy, I would say wait a few more days and retest to be sure. If it’s still positive, it would be worth going for a blood test.

Oh this was exactly like me, give EPU a ring and they will do a blood test on you over 3 days to check your HCG level and then take you in for a scan if the HCG increases. Good luck xx

Thank you everyone for your replies! EPU called me and said sounds like a new pregnancy but they advised me to do a digital instead. I did one and said not pregnant and the clearblue had a very faint line. I think it's just my hormones settling and I don't think it's a new pregnancy. I think the one I posted was a faulty test. I'll test again in a few days to see if it progresses xxx

The digital tests require a lot more HCG, so you might need to wait a few more days.

I had a similar experience but different timeline I had a chemical pregnancy so levels of hcg wasn’t too high. How far along were you? That might make a difference in terms of understanding hormones. I started bleeding Feb 10, on Feb 14 bleeding was spotting and went to EPU (had an appointment) and test was negative. Had sex Feb 19 and on Feb 20 I tested LH which was super positive (a dye stealer) so on Feb 21 I did a pregnancy test out of curiosity and it was positive and LH still super positive. A couple of days later I could barely see a line and next day was negative around Feb 24/25. My GP called me to follow up and I told about the tests of being negative and then positive and then negative again, and she booked blood tests for next day including hcg which came back negative. So it was just my body adjusting to not being pregnant anymore. I hope you find answers soon xx

I was around 10 weeks when I found out but the baby's heartbeat stopped around 6 ISH weeks. Had medical management around the 24th of February and stopped bleeding around the 4th of March. On the 28th of Feb I was told there was a tiny bit left and should come out whilst bleeding. I'm now bleeding since Wednesday like a light period. Xx

Sorry to hear that… looks like your hcg still high enough to show in a test. It will take time to have it down.
