Bath worries!!

I’m 6+2 weeks so VERY early on, I just had a bath which only felt warm when I got in, but I started to feel really warm. I didn’t sweat or get red skin, but felt warm enough to be concerned and get under a cool shower. I know that this can be so risky in first trimester, but I can’t get any reassurance from a midwife yet as not yet had my first appointment!! Should I call the doctor about this??

I imagine you'll be absolutely fine. I imagine if you didn't sweat or get red skin at all it won't have been so hot to cause an issue and you've not stayed in there long either!

I’m sure you’ll be fine lots of people still have hot baths because they don’t know there may be dangers and some people don’t even know they’re pregnant at 6 weeks so will still be taking very hot baths! If you are super concerned you could call triage but i really don’t think you need to worry xx

You can call 111 to put your mind at risk if it helps. I'm a hot bath girl as it I get in a bath and leave the hot tap on throughout and yes I cut it back a little in pregnancy and just use to have a bottle of cold water in the bath with me.

The reason they advise not to have hot baths is because when you get hot it can drop your blood pressure and you feel dizzy and lightheaded as you get out. Definitly wouldn’t bother with 111 as they’re useless when it comes to pregnancy (they sent an ambulance to a woman with an infected ingrown toe nail because she was pregnant where I used to work 🤦‍♀️) Asking as you feel well you and baby will be fine

Thanks so much ladies❤️. Honestly these early days anxieties are awful. I have an early scan booked in two weeks and it can’t come soon enough

I experienced the same thing but nothing came of it and now I am 16 weeks + 4 days I know my midwife said hot flashes is normal and it goes away

You should be absolutely fine. I love a hot bath and I had them all the way through my pregnancy and was always fine, I would say just listen to your body!

Get a bath thermometer for peace of mind! You'll need one for the baby so why not, then you'll know it isn't too hot regardless of how you feel.

A doctor would not be able to do anything In the slightest. Get a bath thermometer (children’s aisle at supermarket - you will need it anyway for baby) and just check the temp of water next time. Should be below 37/38 degrees I believe but best check with Google on that one
