He not lying. I’m covered in stretch marks from drinking sodas 😂 deep ones too.
@Asia see but I’m already covered and have deep ones from my first baby so does it really matter for me at this point 😂
Ngl, I don’t trust TX doctors anymore. Long story short, I knew something was wrong with me at the beginning of this pregnancy and I kept going to the hospital, they kept dismissing me. I was new to the Dallas area from Miami…..something told me to fly home, and go to the hospital there. They found a clot on my lung, and found I had an autoimmune disease that CAUSES my blood to clot. Now I’m on blood thinners until I’m 6 weeks PP. I would get a second opinion because never have I ever had stretch marks caused by ANY of those things. He’s more worried about your physical appearance more than your health. My OB with my first baby told me caffeine helps with headaches and appetite.
I was just told to not overdo it on the caffeine. I agree with Milan, you should probably get a second opinion.
I rather have my stretch marks than quit caffeine 😂
Never heard of this. 😳 Stretch marks are largely genetic. I drank one 8 oz cup of coffee a day throughout my pregnancy and had very, very minimal stretch marks.
Stretch marks are genetic and from weight gain. Low birth weight, preterm labour and miscarriage are associated with high caffeine intake Get a new Dr.
Stretch marks are mostly genetic. I drank probably more caffeine than I should have during my pregnancy ( I work nights, usually about 3 cups/day). I have no stretch marks at all.
I had caffeine all 3 pregnancies. It’s only a concern if you have high blood pressure.
Also never had stretch marks
Nothing causes autism. You either are autistic or you are not. Please find a different doctor.
STRETCH MARKS MEAN THAT ASS SIT UP BETTER THAN TWO BUNK BEDS!!!!!😂
I would change drs. I’ve always heard that is ok to consume up to 200 mg of caffeine per day while pregnant. I had my coffee every day and have no stretch marks. I believe stretch marks have more to do with your type of skin and not so much with what you eat (or don’t) or how much weight you gain in the pregnancy. Plus I don’t think there’s studies on how cbd could affect a baby. I personally stop cbd consumption when I found out I was pregnant
I’ve always been told by my OBs that one cup of caffeinated tea or coffee per day is perfectly safe.

Okay so the Prozac thing- I heard that there have been studies that show there could be links to an increased chance of ASD but the findings aren’t conclusive? So I would ask about that maybe! Second opinion even?
I drank about 6x cups of tea a day. I have no stretch marks
lol that’s ridiculous. Never heard of that lol. I got to keep the caffeine haha
I drank caffeine throughout my pregnancy (only below the recommended amount) but I have no stretch marks from pregnancy at all. It’s based largely on genetics. I’d get a new doctor as Autism is also genetic and nothing something that can be caught or given to a child through medication.
@Milan I just wanna go back to California I never had to worry about this there and I’m so sorry you had to deal with this that very scary
Follow your first mind sista. Your health is more important than anything right now. Because if he’ll tell you misinformation about something that small, imagine what he’ll say about something major. You don’t need any misinformation at this time.
Nope, YOLO. Drink the caffeine in moderation. Don’t mess around and get gestational diabetes tho 😂❤️
That’s insane with the amount my of caffeine I drank I’d just be a human size stretch mark 😂
Are you sure he’s not bought his title online 🥴 excessive caffeine causes slow growth. Certainly not stretch marks and certainly doesn’t require stopping it all together And as for Prozac causing autism. There’s no evidence to support that! DO NOT STOP TAKING THESE AT ALL IN PREGNANCY!
@Milan what autoimmune did you have?
@Gabrielle antiphospholipid syndrome. They’re inducing me @ 37W because of it
@Milan oh interesting. My mom and I both have MTHFR which can cause blood clots and what not. That’s why we take baby aspirin when pregnant
@Gabrielle I’m on Lovenox (blood thinner injection) and baby aspirin
@Ceri-Ann my psychiatrist had a pretty bad accident and I’ve been off my Prozac for a week since I can’t get ahold of her and he won’t call it in for me or my anti nausea meds and I’ve been strugglingggg (i get sick the whole 9 months) he said the one is a sleep aid (it’s not it has a pregnant woman on the damn pill)
He sounds like a really dangerous dr. I’d run! Find someone safe before something unthinkable happens to you or your baby!

And what if you have stretch marks? Most women with babies have them. Do you really need to have a doctor making comments over our body and how it will grow in pregnancy? Doesn't even seems like a medical information but more like a pressure to fit non reasonable beauty standards. Go find a doctor who is a real professional. For your sake. I can imagine the same doctor rigorously calculate your weight gain and make you feel guilty of it.
I would look for a new doctor, I drink coffee all the time and both my babies are fine
@Aurélie he told me max weight I should gain is 10-15lbs I hold a lot of water weight during my pregnancy and he blamed it on caffeine, I do weight 175 and I’m 5’4 but I’m very bottom heavy and workout everyday so it’s not like I’m in bad shape but he already made comments on my weight gain
Dude this doctor sounds awful
I found a “good” Dr an hour away from where I am and I’m gonna see if I feel more comfortable with her if not I think I may just spend my pregnancy in California with my mom where my regular obgyn
Og please find a doctor who won't shame you for your body changes. Unless they are health threatening he shouldn't even mention it. I'm very sorry you ve experienced medical abuse. If you keep with him it probably won't stop there. Take care of you. Not all profesionals are reliables.
I drank caffeine through both of my pregnancies and got no stretch marks lol look for a new doctor
that is crazy 😭 i’d never be seeing that dr again
Your anti-nausea meds sound like the ones I was taking. They’re essentially anti-histamines which are a sleeping aid. It’s a major oversimplification though and he should know better. Hope the new doc is more competent.
I would find a new doctor! And I would check with my other doctors because I should all be talking together to have your care in consideration for the long-term. As far as caffeine it does cause ADHD in children. It can cause weight gain. Caffeine will also cause dehydration in yourself, because it’s a diuretic. It can also increase heart rate and blood pressure. And it can also cause low birth weight and you go to labor early. But with all that said, I drink caffeine my whole pregnancy one Red Bull a day because I suffer for migraines and that was why I didn’t get my migraines and yes, my child has ADHD but so do I! All my kids were early because I did everything under the sun to have them early. I used every trick in the book. 😂! I never got stretch marks. I also drink sweet tea all the time which is another diuretic so for every caffeinated drink, I also drink a full glass of ice water. So you just have to watch what you drink and make sure you’re drinking water as well.
As far as your Prozac, don’t go off that unless your psych doctor tells you to. Most doctors will tell you that you need to come off of it within your third trimester so the baby doesn’t have withdrawals but they can also give you something else for your anxiety. But personally, I would find another doctor. Good luck.
He is a piece of shit. If you are near Dallas I suggest Dr. Richard Salter. He is fantastic!
I drank sodas in my 1st pregnancy and had literally ZERO stretch marks. I think it might be genetics? But, I'd personally change obgyns/prenatal care based on his assumption that my stretch marks bother me and to "avoid" them i need to stop drinking anything with caffeine. And for the autism remark, I'd have asked him to send me the info on where he got that from because to my knowledge autism is something anyone causes. You either have it or you don't. It could be genetics but my eating or taking or certain medicine isn't going to be why a child has autism.
He also told my Prozac causes autism and that I need to stop taking it for the next 9 months but he recommended I take cbd drops that his office sells instead of my antidepressants, thoughts on this I feel like I’m going insane
