Same, but for a lot of FMLA program you have to do two separate applications. One is for your employer and the other is for the state since they’re the ones paying you. I would reach out to your HR department to get more information for your company and state specifically
Hi! HR here. You can take up to 4 weeks before the baby’s due date for pregnancy disability leave (through EDD), that last 6 weeks for vaginal birth and 8 for C-Section. This can be extended up to 4 months by your doctor if there are any complications or health issues related to pregnancy, including metal health. After you are released by your doctor, that’s when your CFRA leave starts and you can take up to 12 weeks of job protection for baby bonding. Running concurrently with CFRA, you can apply for CA PFL (paid family leave, also through EDD) which will pay you for up to 8 weeks of partial wages. You can apply online on the EDD website, PDL and PFL both fall under the SDI category. You create an SDI online account and follow the prompts. Many Doctors offices help provide any medical certification that you may need. Hope that helps!
My manager gave me a number and website to our time off/leave of abscence/maternity leave coverage. I told them the time I wanted to start my leave (about 3.5 weeks before my due date) and submitted my obgyn info. They then contacted me, contacted my obgyn, sent her a form to fill out and once she filled it out they sent me a notice saying everything was lined up. They basically just need medical proof of the pregnancy to put anything into motion.
I’m not sure abt different circumstances but when I was pregnant with my first I got 6 weeks before labor and 6 weeks after with edd at 60% of my working income
