You do realise how social media algorithms work, right? You're seeing the name a lot because perhaps you've searched for it a few times, or you stopped scrolling when you noticed it and now you see it more and more because that's what holds your attention.
it’s so funny cause my first born is called ava and i tell everyone i didn’t notice how common/popular of a name this was until she was born and then i heard it everywhere and she’s one of 3 ava’s in my local mum’s group, but she’s my ava and that’s all that matters. i announced little sister’s name to a friend and apparently that name’s popular too, but again i’m not overly bothered😂
@Paulina I get that! but why isn’t it happening with our chosen boy name (we don’t know what we’re having so we have one name for each) and the boys name we’ve done the same for searched it, said it etc so it has to be more to it then just algorithm and actually a more popular name
Because it's a self perpetuating thing. You read these posts and watch these videos and you're seeing more and more of similar content. You're probably not doing that for the other name.
Well I think it depends on the location like some names are more popular in Uk than US and visa versa. So I think just look at the official ranking from 2023
I think if that’s the name you love then go for it!
@Hayley I have had exactly the same thing. I saw a post of trending 2025 names for a girls name and our name we love for a girl was No1! It's so hard as I like the idea of having a name which you may not hear too often however it's soo hard to know! Currently we are sticking to our original name but who knows we might end up changing it last minute!
