Car seat help?

Hi so I have abit of a dilemma and I’m confused as to what other single moms who dont drive do, because I’m baffled. So I don’t drive which means I rely on buses and taxis, where I live the bus is every hour and a half so I do end up using taxis a lot, or at least a taxi to come home. Now luckily I have a 3 in 1 travel system so it has the car seat attachment to the pram. The thing is he’s 9 months now and I’m pretty sure he’s either going to be too big for it very soon or he’s just about there now. So I have no idea what I’m looking for, like is there another size car seat before a toddler one? Also I’m gonna need it to attach to my pram? That’s the problem I’ve got, else that really limits me going anywhere, I can’t really have one that doesn’t attach to the pram otherwise I’d have to carry a car seat around, aswell as the pram, as obvs I don’t have a car to like leave the seat in, and that’s just obviously not going to happen 🤣 no one even does that. So like what the hell do people who don’t drive do at this point? I don’t understand. Please help because I’m losing my mind.

You’re going to need a next stage car seat if your boy has outgrown his infant carrier which is basically just a bigger car seat that still rear faces with a harness :) they don’t have the handles like the infant carriers do though as they tend to just get installed in the car and then left there with the child taken in and out of the car (obviously for people who drive their own cars) but you can get ones that are installed with the car seatbelt so easily moved from car to car. unfortunately no next stage seats will attach to a pram, only the infant carriers that he’s growing out of :( I have seen some say that they use bungee cords to attach their car seat to the handles of their pushchairs and then have baby in the pushchair in the normal pram seat so maybe that could be an option? Not ideal unfortunately but carrying a seat around with you I think will be the only thing you can do :(

Hey, do you use a taxi service or Uber?if you use a taxi service maybe you could ask if they have a car seat that you could use for the journey home I know some do have car seats or booster seats.. otherwise it seems like you’ll have to carry the other car seat around or maybe time your outings so that you make the buses which is easier said than done🤦🏽‍♀️ with my first born there were taxi services that used to allow me have her on my knee with seat belt around us both but only for short journeys.

Not an easy task after they out grow. Taxis usually don’t ‘need’ a car seat, done quite a few short trips without one and airport medium ones without. But sounds like more of a risk you might not be comfortable taking if this is your daily mode of transport. How about one of the wagon strollers, you could probably fit a car seat in one of them, might be able to use it as a seat, but may need to strap it down. Speak to a local taxi company see if there’s anyway they could keep hold of it inbetween, would probably mean a longer wait as they’d likely take it back to the taxi rank. If your usual location is to a city or town, maybe go to a train/bus station and see if they have luggage storage.

Try John Lewis for advice to see the best car seat or you can buy these holiday car seat things on Amazon not sure age appropriate for this. Once you do the research then see what's best maybe you can get one on Facebook marketplace to save money, because after three or three.5 you have to upgrade again 🙄
