Blow outs

My baby is going to be 12 weeks. Just until recently she started to not poop everyday. Which I know is normal for EBF babes. But when she does poop it is a HUGE liquidy blowout. It is coming out every side of the diaper. Is this normal? I’m not concerned about the diaper size bc the amount of poop is just. ALOT.

this happened to us as well! ped said it was totally normal, and eventually the diapers calmed down but it was like a week straight of blowouts. we also thought about upping diaper size but no, it fits - his poops just dont haha if you have one, we found that putting him in one of those lean back bouncer chairs really encourages bowel movements 🥴 more pooping means less one BIG poop

It's normal. My baby is pooping every 3-5 days and she has big blowouts. Sizing up is going to lead to more leakage.

Yes definitely normal! We're in the same messy boat haha

I’m glad I saw this post! I’m experiencing the same issue with my baby. I thought I needed to switch to a larger diaper size, but it turns out that isn’t necessary. It’s great to know we’re all in the same boat lol 😂

@Molly same thing with my 12 week old! Can I ask what diapers you’re using? I found that Huggies contains his blowouts the best.

@Vanessa im using the Honest brand! I found huggies are too loose for my babe

This happens to my baby too which is EBF. He’s 12 weeks old and it’s about every 2-3 days until he poops.
