My daughter had this around 3/4 weeks, and ended up being diagnosed with eczema soon after. I mention it as something to look out for (especially if you have a family history of eczem). She did get a big dose of IV antibiotics at the time, since her eczema got infected, so that might have helped clear up the seborrheic dermatitis (cradle cap) faster. What we did that really helped was lots of moisturiser all day every day, minimum every nappy change. We used QV baby moisturiser and found it really great. I hope you find something that works!
Oh! In my experience with all her skin issues it's recommended that you do NOT use food based products on babies skin, especially when that skin has problems. They can develop allergies to it later on once they start solids
Coconut oil helps ! It definitely helped with my LO
Just use coconut oil. I’ve encountered the same problem a little later (10 months old) and was given a prescription cream. But giving your bubba’s only 5 weeks old I’d just stick to coconut oil x
Mine had the same. I used almond oil but tbh baths helped the most with clearing it
We just put coconut oil and it went away after a couple of weeks x
Tubby Tod cradle cap has helped immensely! My little guy had it on his eyebrows/forehead also
You don't actually need to take it off. It doesn't bother them it's really just annoying to us because we see it and want to pick it. It'll come off naturally.
Mine had the same issue around 3 weeks old. The doctor gave a prescription cream that actually made it worse so I just used breast milk mixed with aquaphor and it cleared in 3 days. If that didn’t work I planned to try coconut oil
Natural coconut oil and it sorted itself after a couple of weeks
