Thank you cards are fine. Giving them money is odd imo bc you’re paying back for the gift basically. Money is for bday and congratulatory type things and holidays

Yeah, you don’t put money in thank you cards. A gift is a gift, a card is to say thank you. You aren’t paying for the present you didn’t ask for.

No, don't do it. The only time where it is appropriate to put some money on a thank you card is with staff, the postman, the cleaner, you get the idea. And even then there are limits.
