Midwife app note
I had my 37w midwife app today & I was looking at my notes after and she has put the following -
VIT K/ new born screening discussed & questions answered.
Firstly she didn’t discuss either of these with me, so I didn’t ask any questions to be answered so that’s annoying that she’s lied on the notes, but I also don’t even know what a vit k or new born screening is? Does anyone know

If you google newborn vitamin k injection it will give you all the info to make a decision x
I’d raise it the next time you go and say noticed it said you’d discussed it but didn’t so would like to talk about it further
tbh i think there’s a list of boxes and most just tick them quickly to get through the appointment, on one of mine it said that i’d had my appointment with the diabetes team and been given at home monitoring when i’m not even diabetic. i swapped midwives shortly after cause she was a bit useless😂

Vitamin k injection is offered to newborns soon as born, it is to prevent a rare blood disorder that they can’t tell which newborns have it until it’s too late to treat or so I was told so they offer it to all babies as it won’t harm them if it’s unnecessary x
