Advice please

39 weeks, have had such a bad headache for a week now. Painkillers aren’t helping and it’s just constant. I’ve also got swollen feet/ankles and protein positive urine. I had my blood pressure done a few days ago by the midwife which was 138, then by triage today which was 133. They’ve said unless it’s over 140 it’s not pre eclampsia, but I have all the other signs and the headache is just becoming unbearable as I don’t get 5 minutes without it. Do I trust their opinion that it’s definitely not pre eclampsia or do I need to get onto them a bit more about it? Also blood tests were clear Any advice would be amazing ❤️

I’ve had really high protein for about 3 weeks now but not one of the other symptoms and being induced on Saturday when I hit 39 weeks as a precaution! I would maybe push your concerns if your headaches aren’t budging at all! xx

Your blood pressure doesn’t have to be over 140 if it’s a big increase on what’s normal for you. I know someone who had preeclampsia that was missed because their blood pressure wasn’t high. With the protein it needs to be quite a bit, if it’s just a trace or +1 they won’t be concerned and just send it off to check the levels. The headache may just be hormonal and if you’re in pain that can make your blood pressure go up. If you’re not happy then keep going back, at 39 weeks they can induce you if there’s any concern.

Just to add, you could go back and end up speaking to a different doctor who has a completely different opinion. I have really noticed so many inconsistencies, especially in this pregnancy.
