Baby weight/feeling low

Im quite slim usually and didn't put that much weight on with my first, but this time, I ate lots of carbs in the first trimester because of nausea. I've developed a sweet tooth, which I've never had, and I've actually put a lot of fat on, even around my belly. Im trying to be careful from now onwards but I'm so so down about myself and my weight, I feel like I'm never going to loose this and I know my husband thinks this deep down too, he's just too nice to say anything. Has anyone else put weight on the second time and feeling the same?

I’m not on my second but on my first baby. My first trimester id eat whatever I could manage as I was throwing up so much, but my second and third trimester I feel like I’ve put on a huge amount of fat, my hips, bum, round my bra and back too. Also my face seems to have got so much fatter and feel like I’ve got a double chin. Similarly I’ve always been fairly slim so it feels like a real shock to the system and I’m worried about loosing it also and feeling super self conscious in general and around my husband even though he doesn’t say anything

I have put on sooooo much weight this time around. I didn’t eat well the first pregnancy until towards the end. But this time I’m so hungry all the time unless heartburn is kicking my ass. But there will be time to loose it once baby is here. Don’t beat yourself up. Just keep you and baby healthy xx

@Eleanor, yep, same here in all those areas! I know that my baby is healthy, and I should just focus on that, but it's so hard. I'm planning on trying to be careful from now on! Hope you are ok! And I'm sure we will loose it. 🙈

@Bekki thank you 😊 sometimes it's just hearing that. Im becoming obsessive about it. I should just remember that I've a healthy growing baby xx

I feel the same :( Trying on my old body con maternity clothes and I’m like oh nooo 🤢 my legs & bum are getting so big! All those carbs and anything I could stomach to eat in the first trimester, plus not going to the gym in the first 12 weeks has really done me dirty🤣 I’ve been eating better and back at the gym 2/3 times a week, about 15k steps a day still, and I swear I’m just getting bigger 🤣🤣

Same here! I didn’t gain much weight until the third trimester during my first pregnancy, but this time around, I’d already put on 12 kilos by 28 weeks. Thankfully, I haven’t gained anything in the last three weeks (I’m 31+3 now), so I’m just hoping the weight gain is following a different pattern this time.
