US mamas, have you ever had your child’s bday at a park with a bounce house? Did you have to ask the park district in advance? Or get a permit?

I’m thinking probably 15-30 people will come. Bounce house. Few tables and chairs for food, maybe a tent cover in case of rain!

Where I live yes, you have to contact the county parks and they give you a permit for the day.

In my city if you want exclusive use of a pavilion you have to pay the county or the city. You cannot pitch a tent in the park or have a bounce house. My friend had a really chill birthday for her son at the park where they played at the playground and did a scavenger hunt then went back to her house for cupcakes.

To be on the safe side I would see if you could get in contact with someone to ask and if that’s not possible as your local police department if you need a permit or not and how to go about getting one

@Dana 🦅♥️🤍💙 my city definitely allows it but upon further research I need a “special event permit”

Depends on the park. Some you have to reserve it and some you don't.

Every park/city/county has different policies; you may not need a permit, but a reservation. Like a restaurant, I would definitely check to be sure before having that many people show up to be responsible.
