I got asked if I wanted to know the gender at my 20 wk scan and I said yes, so at the end she told us. But someone did say to me they won’t write it down if you wanted to go away and do a gender reveal at home. Don’t know if that’s true though or just depends on the person you get.. 🤷🏻♀️
No, they do tell you however usually if the baby isn’t in the right position/ doesn’t cooperate and they can’t see the gender then they won’t get you in for another scan
They tell you but they aren't allowed to write it down
We had the option of being told during the scan or having it popped in an envelope…we chose envelope and it was just a little picture that said it’s a girl xx
They will tell you at 20 weeks but no sooner :)
With my first baby they didn’t tell me, I had a private scan and they confirmed but with my second baby they confirmed it
They don’t tell you in Scotland bizarrely - my brother had to do a private scan to find out!

Depends on the area, I was told at 16 weeks but that was twins
Some areas won’t tell you, ours would but said they couldn’t guarantee it until our consultant scan where he printed out a scan photo of his willy 🤣🤣
They will likely tell you if they can see it (they also may not go out of their way if baby isn’t co operative) they won’t write it down for a gender reveal but verbally will tell you. I would go for a private scan for a gender reveal they take their time and make the experience special for you in comparison 🙂
They don’t write it down, i asked them if they could and they said they could only tell us
My hospital wrote it down for us, as I said my stepson was going to tell us if it’s boy or girl. That was like 2years ago, so maybe it’s changed 🤷🏼♀️, but definitely ask they will either tell you or write it down if they can. X

They will if they can see but it’s not an actual documentable part of the anatomy scan so if they can’t see they won’t keep trying. Most also won’t write it down in an envelope for a gender reveal
