I would try not to get too nervous 4% is extremely low, if anything treat it like a opportunity to see baby’s progress not as a thing to be afraid of, you may find it’s more to check baby’s growing at a normal pace considering your heart problems x If they see anything they will refer you to the fetal medicine team and cardiologists that’s what they did to us after our 20 week scan they were able to scan in more depth and confirmed we didn’t have anything to worry about but they were great at what they did and were really reassuring during the scan x
@Natasha maybe that's why I'm also having growth scans because of my BMI, as I need to take aspirin every night
@Megan I had a fetal scan at 21 weeks and then had to go great ormond street as they could only find one artery for my heart when they want to find atleast 2. But luckily found 4 at the 2nd appt
@Chelsea they will have a multitude of reasons why you might need growth scans lovely ❤️ they aren’t a bad thing please don’t be nervous at all
@Chelsea if they found all 4 that’s great! If your on for bmi that will also be a factor just go and try to enjoy getting to see him again, if your lucky you will get another picture! X
@Natasha lovely thank you hun 😘 x
@Megan yeahh that's the bit I'm looking forward to xx
Don’t be nervous at all!! I’ve had a total of 4 growth scans 32,35,36,37 weeks. The only reason I started having them weekly is because little man dropped in weight but growth scans just help to give a better picture of how baby is doing later on in pregnancy. How my growth scan appointments usually go are - Go to the hospital Have a scan (like your 12/20 week one) They will look at things like heart beat, fluid, blood flow from placenta and measurements of baba. You will then see a midwife/nurse to have your usual pee dip checked, blood pressure and CO2 if that’s what you get checked. Then after that you will usually see your consultant and they will just go through the growth scan results and they will just ask how you have been and if you have any concerns etc. They will also decide if you need scans weekly, bi-weekly or every 3 weeks. The only reason I had growth scans was because of my BMI so please don’t be nervous at all ❤️ it’s always nice to see little one on a scan 🥰
