Money struggles

Hi , Asking for some advice and if someone maybe has gone through this experience. In feb decided to quit my stable job as I saw a new opportunity somewhere closer to home. That didn’t work out and have been since struggling to find a part time job anywhere. My partner is a gas engineer but we moved at the end of Feb due to our flat agency informing us they are selling up. By moving, bills have gone up and my partner can’t afford everything so I need to support him. By struggling finding a place to work I am now at the end of my savings and not sure if I would be eligible for government help. As my other half does earn quite a lot , but we are not married. Little one is nearly 2 , we have freshly found a new nursery. Would not want to lose his space either. Would you let the job centre or universal credit know? I’m at the point where I’m already 400 pound in credit and would have to pay using Klarna credit card , to pay all my bills this month :( Really unsure what to do :(

Personally I’d try apply for universal credit they can only really say no, they could also maybe help with nursery fees? You just apply online and I’m assuming you already claim child benefit too xx

You can do an online calculator to check eligibility for support. When I was unemployed after maternity leave, we didn't qualify for any support due to my partners earnings. Wishing you the best of luck xx

Hey lovely! Apply for universal credit asap as it can take up to 6 weeks to start benefits. We went through a patch where I was unemployed and my partner worked but we did have to use credit cards to pay for bills. How often does babe go to nursery? Could you potentially have a chat to them about your situation and see if you can drop days but try keep the space open? That’s what my nursery did. So he would do mornings or afternoons and kept the space open but I was super lucky. There will be benefit calculators online you can check to see what you’re entitled to xx
