One and done after preeclampsia?

I recently had my baby boy in December! And I always liked the idea of having 2 children, however I developed preeclampsia at 34 weeks and it was very stressful towards the end! I’m worried that if we were to have another one (definitely wouldn’t be for a couple years if we did🤣) I’d develop it again and would be in hospital away from my little boy! Finding it so hard to weigh up the risks, and luckily it’s a little while off but just got me starting to think about it. I wondered if anyone is/had been in a similar situation? Thank you!

I had my daughter in Oct 23, she was born at 27 weeks after I was diagnosed at 24 weeks. I’m planning to have another baby and my doctor has told me that while I still have a significant risk, it’s likely I’ll have a better reaction as baby will have the same father. I’m planning to make my pregnancy need-to-know so I’m not juggling everyone’s emotional weight and making plans for my daughter to be with family and visit while I’m in hospital. It will be hard, but I’m hoping she’ll be young enough not to remember anything other than being a big sister.

I developed pre-e at 32 weeks and it was one wild and stressful ride (baby was born at 34 weeks.) I am terrified of developing it again but I'll let you know how it goes! Currently 21 weeks with baby #2. The first is 18 months right now

I feel exactly the same. My little boy makes my heart melt and makes me want a second baby but I was diagnosed with pre-e (luckily at 37 weeks) had an emergency c section the next morning and the following 4 weeks were absolutely awful. I felt so robbed of my newborn bubble as was just too poorly to do anything. It has terrified me that I may go through it again and at the time thought I couldn't bare to have any more children but 6 months in and I'm back to wanting another. Just going to wait the recommended 18 months then we'll try as I'm 39 and know the risk of pre-e will only get worse with age!
