Hey thank you for commenting! It’s so strange because she was very nice but also the least reassuring call ever and It’s not like it’s very severe imo Yeah to I don’t really know how to describe it it just feels like tightness bloat but not in my stomach and I have this very faint tenderness similar to a few days prior to my period.
Is it higher up around your ribs too? Kinda like indigestion almost?
No, I have had indigestion though x
I honestly reckon she didn’t listen to what you said properly and just heard “it feels like I’m going to come on” It’s totally normal to feel the tightness, I’m feeling it too when I lay on my back, it’s super annoying. Like you’ve been winded but duller and like it’s inverted. It’s just because your body’s going through a lot of changes with the different levels of hormones and it’ll be moving about to accommodate your child. If you are concerned and do want another medical opinion, on badger notes there’s a list of numbers you can ring up to ask them and they’ll be able to reassure you 🩷
My experience this time and last is mild cramping that is notably different to period cramps. It’s more stretching/general tenderness. I’ve also been told by midwives when I asked that it should not feel like period pain and if it does to call them - I imagine they won’t just tell you it’s normal to make you feel better as you should be aware of signs that need checking out vs ones that don’t. Either way, if you have a problem with them you should be able to ask to switch midwife
Honestly midwives 🤦♀️ that's why I'm having a home birth and may not even have them present 😂 I've had lots of mild cramping, so many people I know have too. You have a placenta burrowing into your uterus, it would probably be weirder if you had nothing! But definitely go for early reassurance scans if you're ever worried!
I’ve had some weird pain today and yesterday too, almost like it’s pulling my belly button from the inside. I’m figuring it’s the placenta burrowing?
Hello 💓 I also felt dis-heartened by my first midwife app - Tommy's website also has a midwifery phone line if you want to try calling them for a second opinion. I am also 8w 4d and have had a previous miscarriage, so I understand the fear. I have had a near constant stomach ache, like I've eaten something that doesn't agree with me for a week and my stomach feels very tight, and have since had a scan with a heartbeat seen. Is it tightness like bloating?
