Telling friends and family

Hey, I am 5 weeks pregnant and due Dec 7th. Wanting to know if anyone is telling people yet. Some people like to wait 3 months (12 weeks) but that feels too long to hold in haha I can't do it. Anyone else told people? I have announced to friends and family already :)

Is totally up to you and your significant other (if you have one). We chose to not tell anyone till after the 1st scan before telling family. Didn’t tell close friends till after 2nd scan and never told others till after birth. So unless people saw me while pregnant we didn’t tell friends

Good morning. I’m due December 7th also, and my husband & I just decided to tell most people already because I am showing already & this baby is a miracle & we want to give glory to God!

Wow Misky, you must be a scorpio ha my own sister didn't even tell me and our mum until 3 months ha I was shocked lol but yeah everyone is different x

Love that Rachel. I am speaking it into existence. My belly is quite bloated too, but we have told family and friends. Everyone is so excited for us :) it's lovely. First 7 week scan on 20th eeek

Yeah told parents sister and 2 best friends. The rest I'll wait til 12 week scan. Then I'm shouting from the rooftops haha

I'm due the 8th with our ivf baby after 5 years ttc. I have first scan at 7 weeks so if we get good news I would like to tell my family. When we told the clinic the nurse said its still very early days so be careful who you tell which made me worry about telling anyone x

I personally don’t like anyone knowing until after 4 months at least! It’s so early

I’d really love to keep it quiet for as long as possible tbh because this is our 4th baby a lot of people have strong opinions about us having another child and I just want to protect my peace but because of childcare arrangements around scans certain people will have to know sooner and I already look so obviously pregnant so it’s hard to hide 😂

Haha thanks. Even with maternity at work you have to let them know as soon as. I already have a meeting with HR. By week 20 I have to give my midwife MatB1 etc. There's a lot of data out which is interesting. Healthy and regular periods - percent of loss is 10-20%. For all, after 7 week scan where you have healthy heartbeat - the chance of loss drops to 5%. My viability scan is 20th. I'm staying positive.

@Michelle how far along will you be on your scan date. I have mine on the 24th and will be just passed 7 weeks hopefully 🤞

Hey, I will be 7 weeks and 1 day. I read that sometimes 6 weeks is a bit early but by 7 you can defo always hear the heartbeat if all is well. Good luck with yours too :) I'm excited for you! X

My ladt i told family before 12 weeks and on my 12 weeks scan i found out I’m going to miscarry this time I’m waiting until my 12 weeks scan to tell people

I told our parents two days ago and siblings. I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks in January and didn’t tell anyone until it was happening and really wish I’d had support on the run up. Them first few months are scary. This time we decided we wanted family’s support mainly to help with my anxiety but also to try and help be more positive and excited. Won’t be telling anyone else until after the 12 week scan!
