I take mine this Friday! 😭

@ButterflyScorpioo mines is next Friday 😭😭

I’ve been looking at videos on tik tok, it’s just by chance that you passed , they make you retake at least three times if you feel and longer each time

Failed*

it’s not as bad as everyone makes it seem, the taste is like a super sugary koolaid. just follow your OB instructions as far as the fasting portion so your read is as accurate as possible 💕

A lot of detail here of my experience, in case at all helpful! 😁 I did both the 1 hour test and the fasting + 3 hour test two weeks later. My first came back really borderline and my doctor let me decide if I wanted to take the second test to be safe. I did and was negative. There's not really anything to prepare for the first test except bring something to do while you wait. My OB appointment was between when I first drank the test liquid and when I had to go back for a blood draw, so it was just part of a day full of appointments. Just like pregnancy in general. 🤣 Some people really hate the taste of the drink since there is so much sugar in it. I had no problem either time, got the fruit punch and then the orange flavor for the second test. I personally "preferred" the orange but I usually don't like fruit punch flavored things. It didn't taste good, and I'd never do it by choice. But it was fine for me, I pretty much just chugged it like water.

(cont.) If you're not fond of needles/blood draws, you'll just need to be ready for that. The 1 hour test is just going to have the drink and then one needle stick an hour later. The 3 hour test involves fasting--I fasted overnight for a morning appointment--then four separate blood draws. One draw initially for your fasting amount, then you drink, then you go back for blood draws at 1, 2, and 3 hours (I think some also do at 30 minutes but I didn't). They ended up sticking each of my arms twice. Came away with some bruising, and it wasn't a pleasant experience. But I don't have any issue with needles... I used to donate blood a lot. Mostly I was really bored for the 3 hour test. I brought a book but was nodding off in the waiting room mostly. They came and called me back at each hour. I took the day off, which was good since it took so long. I had a 9:15am at a Labcorp location, but they were really busy so it took me a while to start. Left around 1:30pm.

@sheeshee thank you very much! This helped a lot 😊

Order the fresh test you will feel more confident :) remember to shake it as they give you 5 minutes to drink it lol and take a pass time while you wait the hour :) I just did my first one aswell I was so exited using a healthier option.

I failed to 1 hour test but only just. I had eaten a sugary breakfast in the morning and wish I didn’t as I think I would have passed it without that. I then passed the 3 hour test. My only advice is to avoid sugar 3 hours before the test and take some entertainment as you usually need to wait in the waiting room for the 1 hour.

I'm doing a 4 hour fast before the test per my providers instructions. Avoiding any carbs and sugar at all that day. And am going to do some intervals before the appointment just to deplete my muscle glycogen. Cuz yeah, I'm kinda concerned too. I never drink 75 grams of sugar in one sitting.

Thank you for asking this, it was really helpful

@Yé of course! We gotta stick together as moms and I'm sure I wasn't the only one who's nervous or wondering

I’m doing mine right now, it just tasted like an orange Gatorade. It was room temperature, the taste is not that bad. After one hour, they will do the blood draw and that’s it.

I did mine last week. I preordered the FreshTest (healthier drink option) just in case the lab didn’t have it. My doctor recommended: ▪️eating a low carb high protein breakfast at least 2 hours prior to the test, I just had two scrambled eggs with no oil/butter to hold me over. ▪️Also, don’t eat sugary foods the night before and morning of the test so that there’s no spike in sugar levels.

Order the fresh test instead. More accurate results.

Has anyone else been wearing a continuous glucose monitor? This test scared me so much (for no real reason, I just have a big baby and freaked out) that I’ve been wearing one in my arm for weeks

My doctor recommended a high protein breakfast, which I did and I passed the 1 hour test. I did feel a little faint 30 minutes after drinking the glucola, so be aware of possible side effects and let your doctor know if you don’t feel well while you wait for the blood draw. Overall not too difficult of a process, but I’m glad it’s over!

@Kenzie thank you!!! 😊
