Percentiles

So at my scan (23 weeks) my baby was measuring on the 10th percentile. I’ve been for an appointment today and she measured my bump and she’s on the 90th percentile. I am now so confused lol. My midwife said measuring the bump isn’t accurate and I’m due another scan soon so will get more accurate measurements. Anyone else relate?

My first was born just under the 4th percentile, but my bump measured on the 50th the whole way through, and at my 20 week scan baby measured on the 50th percentile. Fundal height measurements really aren't that accurate

Some babies do have a growth spurt but not by that much in that short time! Scans are more accurate than bump. More scans will give you the answers you need. I’m expected to have a small baby and the midwives don’t even measure my bump - scans only. My first was around 2nd percentile when born and definitely needed different care to an average sized baby (mostly with feeding) so it’s worth reading up if your baby stays small or slips percentiles as you get further on. It’s likely they will want to do extra scans with a baby who’s 10% or below - especially if you and your partner aren’t particularly short.

How far gone are you sorry? I’m 25wks and they’ve still never measured my bump so wondering when they start to do this….

I was measuring on the 10th at my 20 week scan and so scheduled for regular growth scans every 3 weeks. At my latest midwife appointment, she told me that it was pointless measuring my bump as it would have very little correlation and seeing as I'm having regular growth scans I'm better off waiting for those. I think it's fairly normal and nothing to worry about. Judging by the size of me 3 weeks later I don't think she's that small anymore 😂
