Chickenpox and pregnancy

I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant and my daughter has chickenpox. Now I’ve been on Google and it says it can be very serous for a pregnant women if they get chickenpox or be near it Has anyone been in the same situation and has been okay or should I be worried because I’m kind of panicking right now🥺

If you've had it before nothing to worry about

I am a primary school teacher who had around 1/3 class with it just before I went on maternity! The advice is to stay away, however as mums with kids who have it as in jobs like this, we can’t! The midwife said if we have already had it, it should be fine and to just stay at arms length where possible (I.e could someone else bathe your child etc). X

My little boy had it a few weeks ago When I was 28 weeks pregnant, I didn’t do anything different as I had chicken pox when I was little (I still had cuddles and bathed him and rubbed lotion in his skin/spots), I just kept an eye out on my skin to make sure I wasn’t one of those rare cases that catch it twice, if I noticed anything, I’d have called gp/midwife straight away xx I was completely fine xx

If you are not sure if you’ve had it before, you’re midwife/gp can do a blood test to check your immunity to it x
