polyhydramnios

Hello fellow mama’s and mama’s to be! I am a little confused and concerned by the results I got today for my growth scan. Long story short I just found out I have polyhydramnios, I have had no issues before today so I’m a bit confused and was wondering if anyone else has had this before and their baby was okay?

I had polyhydraminos when I was pregnant. It just means you have excess fluid around your baby and doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. I was huuuuuge when I was pregnant 😂 but other than that it didn't impact us in any way and my baby was / is fine xx

@Monique can you have it without anything being wrong? So I’m on the higher end of not having gestational diabetes (or was when I did my glucose test) and they say all his testing is normal so I’m ruling out genetic abnormalities and I don’t think he has any malformations so I guess I’m kinda just confused, my office never explains anything to me so I’m left to figure it out on my own. If it’s not a huge concern I won’t worry to much, I’ve just had a lot of worrying and unexplained things from subchorionic hematoma to him having a choriod plexus cyst to 1 kidney being dilated to both kidneys being dilated to now this, so we’ve had a rough almost 33 weeks so far 😅 I just want to make sure I know the extent of what’s going on

I know how you feel, when I was told I had it I got so anxious and thought I had done something wrong to cause it but I hadn't and nothing was wrong at all. She came out perfectly healthy and still is (she's almost two now 🥰) The only thing I would say is they recommended I have an injection after the birth to help with the delivery of the placenta but I refused because I wanted to deliver it naturally and didn't want to risk the side effects of feeling sick but the injection can also help protect you from haemorrhage (which you're at higher risk of with the excess fluid) and I did haemorrhage after the birth so if I could go back and do it all again I would have definitely had the injection. But other than that there were no complications or issues at all xx

I had it with one of my twins. Everything was okay with him at birth & thriving 2 years later.
