I just got a baby gym and made a mobile for above the changing tables for this reason and to keep him occupied! The contrast cards as an art gallery just stopped working and looking for more inspo to keep them busy. Someone I know had great success attaching a Mylar balloon to their foot!
@Kyla If you told me before having a baby chores would be my source of entertainment during maternity leave I wouldn’t have believed you…but here we are 😂
@Ella I actually did the Mylar balloon activity and he loved it! You reminded me to reinstall the mobile above my Skip Hop change pad now that he can enjoy it - Thsnks!
Make faces in the mirror; play a fun singalong song on YouTube on my phone and dance with baby in front of the mirror - I like Animal Boogie or The Color Song; walk outside in the yard and listen to the wind chimes/birds and check out the plants; shake or turn over containers from the pantry to see what sounds they make and watch the contents move (her favorite was the orzo).
My husband also played electronic darts while holding baby. She loved the light up board and the sound effects. High contrast lol.
totally get that, it can feel like a loop sometimes! maybe try some music time or baby yoga? even just a change of scenery, like a different room or outside for a bit, can help mix it up! 😊 this is what the 'Heal App' mentioned… hope it helps! "It sounds like you're doing a fantastic job with your little one! To keep things fun and varied, consider incorporating sensory play, such as using different textures like soft fabrics, crinkly paper, or even safe kitchen items like measuring cups. You could also try music time, where you play different genres of music and dance together, or even make simple instruments with household items. Another idea is to create a mini obstacle course with pillows and blankets for him to explore during tummy time. Remember, it's completely normal to feel the need for variety, especially as a caregiver! What activities does your baby seem to enjoy the most so far?
Do those things in different rooms and at different times lol and sometimes just drag baby around with you and do chores in the house. That's how I keep the monotony from getting at me!
