One year jabs

Please help. I’ve put them off my little boy is now 14 months. I’m sooooo nervous for them. Any tips such as numbing cream etc would be greatly appreciated 😭🥲

Honestly the best advice I can give is get it over and done with, cuddles and something to distract him while he’s having them done

It really wasn’t that bad. I find the older they get the better and better they go.

My husband gave my daughter chocolate buttons straight after hers and she soon stopped crying 😅

Honestly I wouldn't worry about numbing cream or anything. It only hurts for a minute and you'll just prolong the appointment and everything faffing. You literally walk in, sit down, they do both thighs at the same time so it's quicker for them and you leave. In the room about 3 minutes. They cry for about 3 minutes and then that's it. Done until the next ones. You're the hero in it. Nurses do the jab, lots of cuddles and fuss and that's it. It's really really not that bad. We build it up far worse in our heads than it actually is.

what is it that’s making you so nervous? i get it because i was dreading it but i mean to the point of putting them off? x

I gave my daughter milk! Worked like a charm. Tears quickly went xx

My son had one in each arm and one in each leg done one at a time but they do it so quickly that it’s over before it’s started and I gave him a dummy after and he just walked out the doctors room like nothing had happened

@Jodie just the thought of him being in pain!! He’s also so big and strong the thought of having to like pin him down for them to do it 😭😭😭

My son did it sat on my lap cuddling me, they don’t position them like they do for the first lot of jab
